what to bring
What to Pack, How to Pack :: Pack lightly. Lay out only what you absolutely need, then take half the clothes and twice the money. (2 weeks before we go)
Luggage :: Plan to bring a carry-on size piece of luggage, one that has an extension handle within it. Or a sturdy frame backpack is unbeatable. In addition to your main piece of luggage, a daypack (a small backpack or courier bag) is a must.
Clothing :: The climate varies widely according to region. For most places, it’s a good idea to bring: light weight warm jacket or wool sweater, rain jacket, sturdy shoes or hiking boots, thick socks, flip-flops or waterproof sandals are must-haves. If you have room, add one outfit beyond the jeans and t-shirt uniform, and a nicer pair of shoes. Remember, you’ll need something besides tank tops and shorts to be respectful when visiting religious or cultural sites.
First-Aid Kit :: Emergen"C" electrolyte powder packets (for heat stroke), pain reliever, moleskin, sunscreen, herbal insect repellent, herbal burn ointment. Many of these first aid items are avaliable in health food stores in the herbal section.
Cell Phones :: A cell phone can be a lifesaver (literally) on the road. Bring one if you have it. Call your carrier for an international dialing option.Cameras :: Digital cameras do very well going through the X-ray machines at the airport.
