code of ethics
Providing workshops that give indigneous people the opportunity to control their own future and economically support their community benefits both the guest and the host. Through ethical guidelines we gain respect for each other and the natural world. Listed below are a few suggestions we would like to share with you.
Understand Cultural Context :: Honor the host community's knowledge of place by cultivating listening, observing and the art of respectful questioning.
Culturally Sensitive :: To prevent what might be considered offensive behavior, be sensitive and aware of feelings, customs and beliefs of the community you are visiting. Be especially conscious concerning dress, photography and religion.
Environmentally Friendly :: Lessen your impact on the environment by using water and energy efficiently. This will help restore and preserve the environment.
Economically Beneficial :: Eating in locally owned restaurants and buying local goods and handicrafts along with staying in lodging that is owned by a member of the community supports the local economy.
