about concentric rings™: a personal healing journey

My travels to South America began as a personal healing journey. I was seeking a different kind of health care than the one offered in the United States. I am trained as a western herbalist, but the herbalism I experienced in South America was deeper and richer — it had heart, it had soul. It was clearly unlike the herbalism I had been practicing in the United States. I found western medicine was not the primary source of health care outside the United States. The local healers are sought out and acknowledged by the community for their continuous efforts to keep the traditional methods of healing alive. Concern as to how this knowledge will survive into the next generation is in question. Modern technology is shifting their community’s focus away from traditional healing ways. My vision for concentric rings™ began with an idea to educate people about a model of alternative healing — a knowledge that honors the human body and the health of the planet we all share. concentric rings™ is designed to send this gathering of healing knowledge radiating outward into communities, creating a ripple or concentric ring of information that I hope will inspire people enough to ponder the question, "Why is it important for you to become more responsible for your own health care?" Our healers and locations are carefully selected to offer the group a rich experience of local healing traditions and customs. Our participants say that the information they have gotten from our workshops has not only been healing, but for many, life transforming.
